A Family Tradition of Innovation and Excellence

Like his father, Dr. Louis F. Taglia Jr. is dedicated to providing his patients with exceptional dental care. He began his pursuit of dental excellence right out of dental school. Louis sought out the premiere dental educators in the country to become one of Chicagoland's primer dentists in esthetic, implant, and comprehensive dentistry.

In the last several years, Dr. Taglia Jr. has moved from traditional dentistry to a more conservative holistic approach known as biomimetic dentistry. Biomimetic dentistry is a natural approach to dental care that maintains more of the patient's natural tooth structure. Which, when combined with the biomimetic bonding protocol, leads to restoration with long-lasting results.

Dr. Taglia Jr. remains committed to furthering his knowledge in dentistry and still pursues education from the top leaders in the dental community. He remains a member of many professional dental organizations that provide him with continued access to the most current techniques and knowledge they offer. 

His passions in dentistry are biomimetic, esthetic, implant, comprehensive care dentistry, and building long-lasting friendships with his patients. Outside the office, Dr. Taglia Jr. has always had a love for animals. He has four beautiful dogs with whom he enjoys spending time and is committed to helping and donating his time to animal shelters.

Dr. Taglia is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Board of Oral Implantology, the Chicago Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Equilibration Society, and the Misch Resnik Implant Institute. He is also a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Better Understand 
Your Dental Insurance

We work for YOU – NOT an insurance company. Insurance is a wonderful thing for many of our patients, and we work each day to make sure you get all of the benefits you’re entitled to. However, we aren’t thinking about your benefits when we recommend treatment or charge fees. We’re only thinking about what is best for your health.

We will file your insurance as a courtesy, and it is important for you to know your own benefits. We can assist you by providing estimates, but that is all they are – ESTIMATES. We’ll submit your claims electronically and will need all of your insurance information by your first appointment. If you’re not prepared with that information, you will need to pay for services out of pocket and be reimbursed by your insurance company. It’s important for you to know that we will follow up on dental claims for 60 days after they’re filed. After that, it is the patient’s responsibility to follow up on claims and pay any remaining balance.

We treat our patients based on guidelines from the American Academy of Dentistry and not individual insurance plans. We see patients with out-of-network plans because our team provides high-quality care.

Many of our patients ask about the difference between in-network and out-of-network plans. When your provider is in-network, it means that the dental provider has contracted with the insurance company to accept specified (discounted) rates. Your out-of-pocket cost is usually lower with an in-network dentist. Out-of-network providers do not have the same agreement. You carry the responsibility for determining if a doctor is within your network or not. Remember that accepting your insurance and being in-network with your insurance provider are not always the same thing.

A dentist can accept your insurance and file your claim, but that doesn’t guarantee that the dentist is in-network. You can verify any provider’s network status by calling the customer service number located on your insurance card.

Did You Know?

Your dental insurance plan likely has an annual maximum pay-out of $1000-$2000. This has been the standard for the last 50 years. If insurance providers increased maximums to account for inflation, the standard maximum would be close to $10,000.
